WAYNESBURG, Pa. (April 14) – The Waynesburg University men's tennis team hosted tangled with defending Presidents' Athletic Conference Allegheny at the Bechtle Family Tennis Facility on Monday afternoon.
The Gators (16-6, 6-0 PAC) earned a 7-0 victory, extended their winning streak to nine matches and remained perfect in conference play. The Yellow Jackets dropped to 2-8 overall and 1-6 in the PAC.
Allegheny earned the doubles point with a trio of wins.
Ethan Clawson (Washington, Pa. / Trinity) and
Sam Norris (Natrona Heights, Pa. / Highlands) dropped a 6-1 decision at the top flight.
Josh DeFries (East Aurora, N.Y. / East Aurora) and
Andres Rojas (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Brashear) were also defeated 6-1 at second doubles. The third pairing of
Tyler Gordon (Strongsville, Ohio / OHDELA) and
Thomas Torcaso (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Chartiers Valley) fell 6-0.
The Gators did not drop a game in singles play across five completed matches.
Waynesburg concludes its regular season tomorrow with a 6 p.m. PAC match at Geneva.
