TRAFFORD, Pa. (May 14) – The Waynesburg University softball team had four players collected all-conference honors as the Presidents' Athletic Conference released its All-PAC teams and awards via the PAC Sports Network on Wednesday evening.
Senior second baseman
Grace Higgins (Canonsburg, Pa. / Canon-McMillan) received All-PAC First Team honors and senior pitcher
Sydney Wilson (Pentress, W.Va. / Clay-Battelle) collected All-PAC Second Team applause. Junior
Bella DeMark (Carnegie, Pa. / Bishop Canevin) received All-PAC Honorable Mention status as a designated player and freshman
Meysa Heitmann (Morgantown, W.Va. / University) collected an All-PAC Honorable Mention nod as an outfielder.
Higgins concludes her Waynesburg career as a three-time All-PAC pick and a two-time first team selection. She set single-season program records with a .476 batting average and 25 stolen bases. She led the PAC in batting and on-base percentage (.517) and ranked third in stole bases. Higgins scored 33 runs, the third-most in a season in team history and her 49 hits tied for fourth-most in a season after setting the program record last spring.
Higgins recorded 16 multi-hit games and scored multiple runs nine times. She had two four-hit games against St. Elizabeth and Lancaster Bible and scored four times at Carlow. Higgins launched a home run on Senior Day in a win over Westminster and concluded her Waynesburg career as the Yellow Jackets' all-time leader in stolen bases, second in career batting average and third in hits and runs scored.
Wilson caps her Yellow Jacket playing days as the most decorated player in team history. She is a four-time All-PAC pick and two-time PAC Pitcher of the Year. Wilson recorded a 13-6 record with a 2.13 earned run average in 128.0 innings. In 2025 she ranked top-five in the PAC in wins, strikeouts (128), WHIP (1.22), ERA, complete games (14) and hits allowed per seven innings (5.85).
Wilson was the winning pitcher in seven of Waynesburg's nine PAC wins and had five games with double-digit strikeouts. She rung up a season-high 13 batters against St. Elizabeth and struck out 12 in a nine-inning win over Bethany. On Senior Day, Wilson spun a three-hit shutout against eventual PAC champion Westminster. Wilson concluded her career as Waynesburg's all-time leader in wins, ERA and strikeouts. Wilson was also Waynesburg's honoree on the PAC Sportsmanship Team.
DeMark collected All-PAC honors for the first time in her career. As Waynesburg's primary designated player she hit .326 and finished fourth on the team with 18 RBI. DeMark notched nine multi-hit games and drove in multiple runs six times. DeMark hit .354 with 10 RBI and 10 runs scored in 18 PAC games including a four-straight multi-hit games in April.
Heitmann enjoyed a standout debut season with the Jackets. She hit .398 and led the team in runs (26), RBI, (doubles (11), triples (five), home runs (five) and total bases (87). Heitmann matched Waynesburg's single-season runs record and appeared on the top-five leaderboard in triples and hits. She started her collegiate career with a 15-game hitting streak and logged 17 multi-hit games.
Heitmann ranked among the top hitters in the PAC as she finished top-10 in the league in total basess, slugging, triples, home runs and runs per game. She hit two home runs, one over the fence and one inside-the-park against Allegheny and scored four times in wins over La Roche and Carlow.
Waynesburg exceeded 20 wins for the fourth-straight year in 2025. The Jackets tied for seventh in the PAC standings but notched wins over all six PAC Tournament qualifiers during the season.
