WAYNESBURG, Pa. (July 23) – The Waynesburg University baseball team was recognized as a recipient of the 2024-25 American Baseball Coaches Association Team Academic Excellence Award, presented by Sports Attack, on Wednesday.

The Yellow Jackets were one of 440 programs across every level of collegiate baseball to receive the academic honor. Team Academic Excellence Awards as awarded to teams that maintained a team grade-point average of at least 3.0 for the previous academic year.

The 2025 squad is Waynesburg's first to receive this academic recognition. Senior Dalton Mount and sophomore Trent Giraffa college Academic All-District status from the College Sports Communicators and the Jackets had seven Jackets land on the PAC Academic Honor Roll for the spring 2025 semester.
