Waynesburg, Pa. (August 29) - After trailing 1-0 early in the first half, the Waynesburg University women's soccer team responded with a pair of tallies to secure a 2-1 season-opening victory over Mount Union.

The Purple Raiders (0-1) struck first in the 24th minute on a ricochet right in front of the net after a cross from the end line to take a 1-0 lead.

Mohrbacher fired a shot in the low left corner of the goal off an assist presented by Amanda Pepe (Mantua, N.J. / Gloucester County Institute of Technology) to tie the game in the 37th minute.

Hershey provided Waynesburg's go-ahead goal in the 49th minute. Reagan Mittendorf (Bluffton, Ohio / Bluffton) provided the assist with a midfield lead pass to Hershey, who ran onto the ball and fired a shot off the Purple Raiders goalie and into the net.
