BETHANY, W.Va. (September 13) – The Waynesburg University men's cross country team ran its first 8K of the fall on Saturday at the Bethany Invitational.
The Yellow Jackets placed sixth in the team standings with 171 points. The field included NCAA Division II and NAIA programs alongside Presidents' Athletic Conference opponents.
Waynesburg entered five runners among 56 finishers. Junior
Kyle Casella (Clarksboro, N.J. / Kingsway) led the Jackets in 34th at 30:59.8.
Freshman
Jack Hood (Washington, Pa. / Trinity) was next across in 38th with a 31:42.9. Sophomore
Ethan Wilson (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Redeemer Lutheran) followed in 42nd at 32:21.2.
Freshmen
Rockford Bobak (Castle Shannon, Pa. / Keystone Oaks) and
Logan Eberhardt (Massillon, Ohio / Tuslaw) rounded out Waynesburg's scorers. Bobak placed 50th in 34:16.2, while Eberhardt crossed in 56th with a time of 38:17.8.
Waynesburg returns to action next Saturday, September 20, at the PAC Preview hosted by Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania.
