WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Sept. 27) – The Waynesburg University women's soccer team grabbed its first Presidents' Athletic Conference win of the fall with an 8-0 shutout of Bethany on Saturday.
Sophomore forward
Amanda Pepe (Mantua, N.J. / Gloucester County Institute of Technology) led the Yellow Jackets (7-1-1, 1-0-1) with a four-goal haul, which tied the single-game program record for goals in a game (4) and most points in a game (8) since 2000.
The Jackets scored three goals in the first half to build a comfortable advantage. Senior midfielder
Reagan Mittendorf (Bluffton, Ohio / Bluffton) logged the eventual game winner in the 12th minute. Junior midfielder
Hailey Gilchrest (Hanover, Va. / Hanover) found the back of the net in the 20th minute and Pepe's first of the game was tallied in the 36th minute.
The Jackets kept the pressure on in the second half with five more goals. Junior forward
Julz Mohrbacher (Freedom, Pa. / Freedom) notched her team-leading eighth of the campaign. Pepe moved into a tie for the squad lead with scores six, seven and eight of the year. Mittendorf closed out the scoring with her second of the contest.

Junior goalkeeper
Lex Greenlief (Chester, W. Va. / Oak Glen) provided six saves on the afternoon to shut out the Bison (1-6, 0-2).
The Jackets outshot the opposition 25-13 (17-6 SOG) and had two of the game's three corner kicks.
The Orange and Black takes to the road on Wednesday, Oct. 1, for a PAC showdown against Allegheny. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
