Women’s Soccer advances to 4-0 with win over Keystone

WAYNESBURG, Pa. (September 6) - The Waynesburg University Women's soccer team had a dozen players score as the Yellow Jackets recorded a 15-0 victory over Keystone at John F. Wiley Stadium on Saturday night. 

Waynesburg remains unbeaten at 4-0, matching the program's best start since 2018. The outing was Waynesburg's highest-scoring single game effort in team history.

The Jackets scored four times in the first eight minutes and led 9-0 at halftime. Waynesburg added six goals to in the second half.

Kylie Criddle (Lewisburg, W. Va. / Greenbrier East) recorded the seventh hat trick in program history while Amanda Pepe (Mantua, N.J. / Gloucester County Institute of Technology) added a brace. 

Freshman Jessie Jury (Greensburg, Pa. / Hempfield) matched the single-team team record with four assists on the night.

The Jackets also had many newcomers who scored their first collegiate goals with from Gracie Smith (Monroe, Ohio / Monroe), Ryan White (Lewisburg, W.Va. / Greenbrier East), Bella Norton (Selden, N.Y. / Newfield), Sophia Bertazon (Phoenix, Md. / St. Timothy's), and Jury each finding the back of the net.

The rest of the Jackets goals were from Julz Mohrbacher (Freedom, Pa. / Freedom), Kya Huggins (Fairview, W.Va. / North Marion), Brianna Roberts (McDonald, Pa. / West Allegheny), Rylie Alexander (Mount Clemens, Mich. / L'Anse Creuse High School North), and Linzey Miller (Vandergrift, Pa. / Kiski). 

Reagan Mittendorf (Bluffton, Ohio / Bluffton), Miracle Hershey (Lebanon County, Pa. / New Covenant Christian), Sydney Brown (Kittanning, Pa. / Armstrong), Bertazon, Mohrbacher and Jury each notched at least one assist. 

The Yellow Jackets outshot the Giants (0-2) 48-1 (32-1 SOG) and had both of the game's corner kicks.

The Jackets travel to Pitt-Greensburg on Wednesday for a 4 p.m. kickoff.
