BETHANY, W.Va. (Feb. 11) – The Waynesburg University men's basketball team traveled to Bethany for a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) contest. The Yellow Jackets fell 105-69 to the Bison.
The Jackets (7-15, 3-10) started slowly against the Bison (10-12, 6-7) and found themselves in a 7-0 hole after two minutes play. Waynesburg responded with an 11-6 run that cut the deficit down to 13-11 5:17 into the first half.
Momentum swung back to the home team, which resulted in a 14-4 run that put the Green and White ahead 27-15 midway through the period. The Bison kept up the offensive pressure and with 3:22 showing on the clock, Waynesburg trailed 44-24.
In the last three minutes of the first half, the Yellow Jackets fought back and put together an 8-3 run that made the score 47-32 at the break. Senior guard
Casey Keesee (Tipp City, Ohio / Bethel) led the way for Waynesburg over the first 20 minutes with nine points. Fellow senior guard
Jalen Goins (Morgantown, W.Va. / Morgantown) added eight.
Bethany edged its lead up to 20 points four minutes into the second half, before the Bison opened the floodgates and pulled away for the victory.

Aiden Blake (Parkersburg, W.Va. / Parkersburg South) tied for the Waynesburg team lead with 14 points. Goins joined them in double digits with 10.

Jackson Rhodes (Christchurch, New Zealand / St. Andrews College) and Blake tied for the squad lead with five rebounds, while Keesee handed out a game-high three assists.
Waynesburg will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 14, and face Grove City on the road. Tip-off is slated for 3 p.m.
