WAYNESBURG, Pa. (March 31) – The Waynesburg University men's tennis team took advantage of warm, but windy, weather to play a pair of non-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matches against Carlow on Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets swept the Celtics by the scores of 7-0 and 5-2.
Waynesburg (4-6) won a combined 10-of-12 singles matches on the day and secured both doubles points by going 5-1.
Sophomore
Ethan Clawson (Washington, Pa. / Trinity), sophomore
Sam Norris (Natrona Heights, Pa. / Highlands), sophomore
Noah Biser (Wake Forest, N.C. / Wake Forest) and freshman
Michael Pohuski (Westminster, Md. / Westminster) all went a perfect 4-0 over the sweep.
Juniors
Tyler Gordon (Strongsville, Ohio / OHDELA) and
Zachary Johnson (Raceland, Ky. / St. Joseph Central Catholic) posted 2-0 marks during the early contest.
Waynesburg gets to enjoy a week off, before returning to PAC competition on Tuesday, April 7, with a road trip to Grove City. Start time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
