TRAFFORD, Pa. (April 13) – The Waynesburg University softball team put together a 5-1 week to move into fifth place in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) and take a step towards qualifying for the conference tournament. Freshman
Morgan Walt (Hunker, Pa. / Hempfield) played a major role in the successful seven days and was honored for her work as the PAC Newcomer of the Week.
Walt went a perfect 3-0 in the pitching circle with three complete games for the Yellow Jackets during which she allowed only three earned runs over 18 innings of work for a 1.17 ERA. She opened the week with a seven-inning complete game win over Franciscan, allowing one run on four hits while striking out two. The righty followed with a six-inning victory against Bethany, giving up just one run on four hits with one strikeout. She closed the week with a five-inning complete-game win at Chatham, allowing one run on six hits while striking out three in the 12-1 victory.
The rookie is now 5-0 on the season with a 2.01 ERA.

here. Waynesburg is back in action on Wednesday, when it hosts Thiel for a conference doubleheader that will also serve as its annual Suicide Awareness games. First pitch is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
