TRAFFORD, Pa. (Aug. 4) – The 2026-27 football preseason has its unofficial start later today when the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) hosts its annual football media day. Waynesburg and the 11 other football-sponsoring league members will be represented by their respective head coaches and a member of the roster.
 
The day is scheduled to get underway at 2:15 p.m. with a brief welcome by PAC Commissioner Joe Onderko. That will be followed by Ed Mailliard being recognized as the 2026 recipient of the Dow Carnahan Media Award.
 
That ceremony will be followed by interviews of the players and coaches conducted by PAC Associate Commissioner, Director of Communications Brian Rose. The day concludes with the highly anticipated unveiling of the 2026 preseason poll, which will be voted upon by head coaches, league sports information directors and media members in attendance.
 
The Yellow Jackets will be represented by first-year head coach Larry Wilson and graduate student offensive lineman Kory Ansell (Mt. Pleasant, Pa. / Southmoreland).
