ALLIANCE, Ohio (Sept. 1) - The Waynesburg University women's soccer team opened the 2026 season on Tuesday at the University of Mount Union. The Yellow Jackets fell 1-0 to the Purple Raiders.

In the 52nd minute, the Raiders (1-0) scored in the bottom left corner of the goal to provide all the offense needed for the win.

The Yellow Jackets (0-1) and Raiders were even in shots with 11 each. Waynesburg led in shots on goal (6) and corner kicks (8), while Mount Union led in saves (5) and fouls (7).
