WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Sept. 15) – The Waynesburg University volleyball team was back in action for a second-straight night as it hosted the Mount Aloysius Mounties in a non-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match. The Mounties took the 3-1 victory, 25-17, 19-25, 25-21, 25-17.
Waynesburg (1-5) was paced by freshman
Bostyn Guinn (Dallas, Texas / Midlothian Heritage), who recorded a double-double for the second consecutive contest with 30 assists and 13 digs. Senior
Kristina Zadrozny (McDonald, Pa. / West Allegheny) led the Yellow Jackets in kills with 12.
Sophomore
Katie Cottis (Wintersville, Ohio / Indian Creek) just missed a double-double of her own with nine kills and 10 digs.
The Yellow Jackets secured a decisive 25–19 victory over the Mounties (6-3) in the second set by setting the tone early and relinquishing the lead just twice on their way to victory.
The Yellow Jackets continue non-conference play in the Grove City Invitational this weekend with two matches on Friday and two more on Saturday. Waynesburg takes on Albion College at 4 p.m. and Denison University at 6 p.m. during day one of the event.
