CANFIELD, Ohio (Sept. 26) - The Waynesburg University women's cross country team finished fifth out of eight teams Saturday at the YSU Invitational, which was hosted at YSU's Gorby Family Course. The Yellow Jackets recorded 152 team points and an average time of 26:42.99.
 
Sophomore Erin Belveal (Bay Village, Ohio / Bay) paced Waynesburg, finishing 30th overall in the 85-woman field with a time of 25:23.40. Junior Alexis Hepburn (Etters, Pa. / Red Land) followed in 42nd place at 26:42.29.
 
Freshman Kaitlyn Ritchie (Mentor, Ohio / Mentor) crossed the finish line in 45th place with a time of 26:54.18, while freshman Kierstyn Orlandini (West Wyoming, Pa. / The Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School) finished 47th in 27:00.99. Junior Taylor Severt (Howard, Ohio / East Knox) rounded out the Yellow Jackets' scoring five, placing 50th with a time of 27:34.07.
 
Senior Erin DeLong (Canonsburg, Pa. / Canon-McMillan) finished 57th overall in 28:35.75, followed by sophomore Amber Sallee (Bentleyville, Pa. / Bentworth) in 65th at 29:24.30. Sophomore Lauryn Jones (Somerset, Pa. / Rockwood Area) recorded a time of 29:51.38, while freshman Lydia Carnwath (Bedford, Pa. / Chestnut Ridge) finished in 31:52.52. Sophomore Emily Bussard (Punxsutawney, Pa. / Punxsutawney) posted a time of 33:04.78, and freshman Kathleen Slaby (Lancaster, Ohio / Liberty Union) finished in 38:15.74.
