BETHANY
, W.Va.
(Oct. 15) – The Waynesburg University men's soccer team recorded a historic tie Wednesday afternoon at Bethany in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) contest.

Thanks in part to a goal from senior Ron Wilson (pictured above during a previous game), the Yellow Jackets battled to a 1-1 double-overtime tie against the Bison. That tie ended a 25-game winning streak for the Bison against the Jackets.

Bethany jumped out to a 1-0 lead at 15:23 into the contest when standout freshman Cameron Ward tallied his eighth goal of the season.

Wilson's game-tying goal came at the 77:02 mark of the game when he banged his second goal of the season home past Bison goalkeeper Chad Perry. Sophomore Ryan Hartz assisted on the score.

While Wilson's goal ultimately brought about the historic tie, sophomore keeper Ryan Hunsberger played a huge role in the outcome of the game as he turned away a season-high 11 shots on net over the entire 110-minute span of the game.

Overall, the Jackets were out-shot by the Bison 25-18. Waynesburg now stands at 5-8-2 overall and 0-1-1 in the PAC. Bethany's conference mark is now 1-0-1 and the Green and White now stand at 1-11-1 overall.

The Yellow Jackets will look to pick up their first conference victory on Saturday when they travel to Greenville, Pa. to take on the Thiel Tomcats in a 3 p.m. contest.
