Jacket women kickers fall 2-0 to Bethany

Waynesburg gets shutout by Bison in PAC contest

BETHANY, W.Va. (Oct. 15) – The Waynesburg women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Bethany in a night game on Wednesday night.

 

The loss dropped Waynesburg to 6-6-1 overall and 1-2 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC). The Bison improved to 2-1 in the conference and 7-5-2 overall.

 

Bethany freshman Cassie Spalding scored both goals in the game, the first coming at 15:03 into the contest, and the second coming just before the end of the contest at 89:49. Out of the five goals that Bethany's women scored against the Jackets this year, Spalding has scored four of them.

 

The goalkeeping duties for Waynesburg were split between senior Paige Yeich and freshman Katrina Kelly. Yeich worked the first half and made two saves, while Kelly was in net for the second half and picked up three saves.

 

Bethany keeper Julie Brady played all 90 minutes and made six saves while shutting Waynesburg out.

 

The Lady Jackets return to competition on Saturday, Sept. 18, when they travel to Greenville, Pa. to take on Thiel in a PAC matchup.
