Men's soccer team falls 2-0 to Thiel

Waynesburg drops road contest to Tomcats

, Pa.
(Oct. 18) – Waynesburg went on the road Saturday afternoon and dropped a 2-0 contest to Thiel in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action.

 

The loss dropped the Jackets to 5-9-2 overall and 0-2-1 in conference play. Meanwhile, the Tomcats picked up their first PAC victory of the season as they improved to 1-3-0 in conference action and 5-9-1 overall.

 

Thiel's Chad Swisher had a three-point day by assisting on Robert Glass' goal in the first half that ended up being the game-winner, and picking up a score of his own in the second half.

 

In goal, senior Brad Davis worked the first 52:38 of the contest, allowing both goals and making three saves. Sophomore Ryan Hunsberger played the final 37:22 of the game and made three saves.

 

Thiel goalkeeper David Rafle got the shutout by making six saves over 90 minutes.

 

The Jackets will try to get back on the winning track this Wednesday, Oct. 22, when they host Geneva.
