Waynesburg battles Geneva to 0-0 tie

Senior night crowd gets more than its money's worth

Box Score

WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 21) – For seniors Juli Amato, Paige Yeich, Amanda Serjak and Katie Stafiej, Tuesday night's senior night game against Geneva certainly gave them plenty of time to showcase their skills in front of family in friends that gathered at John F. Wiley Stadium.

The contest went 110 minutes before it ended at the conclusion of the second overtime period with a 0-0 score.

Yeich turned away four Golden Tornado shots during 45 minutes of work in net, before turning things over to freshman Katrina Kelly, who played the final 65 minutes of the contest and recorded five saves.

The Jackets (7-6-2) peppered Geneva (6-3-5) goalkeeper Lauren Londino with 26 shots on goal, but couldn't quite find the mark for a decisive goal.

Waynesburg will return to action on Saturday when they hit the road to take on Westminster in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matchup.
