WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Nov. 1) – The Waynesburg University women's soccer team ended their season with a 3-0 loss to Washington and Jefferson Saturday evening.
W&J's Liz Bendick scored the eventual game-winning goal at the 15:30 mark of the first period off of an assist by Karly Hreskel. The Presidents made it 2-0 with 13:20 to go before halftime thanks to a score by Spencer Ahrenholtz, which was set up by Bendick.
The game's final tally came with just 2:41 left in the contest, and was scored by Karly Hresko.
Freshman Katrina Kelly made her second-straight start in goal for Waynesburg. The first-year keeper from Dunbar, Pa. made six saves in one half of work before turning things over to fellow freshman Jaime Williamson after halftime. Williamson stopped three shots over the final 45 minutes.
Jackie Foltz got the start in net for the visitors and made four saves to record the complete-game shutout.
Waynesburg ends their season with a 7-9-2 overall record and a 2-5 mark in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC). W&J, which was tied for second coming into Saturday night, improved to 5-1-1 in the PAC and 13-5-1 overall. They will head to the postseason.
