WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Sept. 10) – The Waynesburg women's soccer team looked impressive as they took apart the visitors from Mt. Aloysius during a 6-0 victory at John F. Wiley Stadium Wednesday night.

The win is the team's second in a row, and is their second-straight shutout.

The Yellow Jackets (3-1) got the scoring going at 27:35 into the contest when senior Juli Amato opened up the scoring with her first of the year. Sophomore Danielle Danhires assisted on what ended up being the game-winning score.

At 34:35, Waynesburg native Melody Cox scored her second goal in as many games to run the score to 2-0. The Jackets added one more point before the half, courtesy of a Brittany Brown goal in the 45th minute.

It didn't take long for Waynesburg to pick up where they left off in the second period as Amato buried her second of the game just 30 seconds into the half to make it 4-0. Freshman Courtney Ebersole, who leads the team in scoring, got the assist.

Juniors Catherine Moore and Jenna Epler added another goal each to bring about the final score of 6-0. Freshman Grace Sikina added an assist on the Epler goal.

A trio of Yellow Jacket goaltenders faced a total of one shot on the night, which was turned away by freshman Jaime Williamson. Senior Paige Yeich got the win goal after not facing a shot in the first half. Williamson was joined by fellow freshman Katrina Kelly in goal during the second period.

The Lady Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday when they hit the road and head for a 4 p.m. contest at Pitt-Greensburg.
