Waynesburg can't overcome Presidents in PAC contest

Box Score

WASHINGTON, Pa. (Oct. 10) - The Waynesburg University men's soccer team fell to Washington & Jefferson 3-1 on Saturday afternoon.

The Yellow Jackets (1-13, 0-2) out-shot the Presidents (9-3, 2-0) 16-12 on the day.

With his team down by two after the first half, senior Nick Munnell wasted no time in getting the Jackets on the board. Munnell took a pass from freshman Jared Dobsch two and a half minutes into the second half to cut the Presidents' lead to one (2-1).

Starting goaltender Luke Navickas made four saves on the day, but could not stop a penalty shot with 30 seconds left in the contest that gave the Presidents a comfortable  two-goal advantage late in the game.

The Jackets will look to end their six-game losing streak when they travel to Grove City on Saturday,

Oct. 17, for a 12 p.m. start game.
