WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 3) – The Waynesburg University men's soccer team dropped a 5-1 home contest to visiting Westminster Saturday afternoon.
The loss dropped the Yellow Jackets to 1-11 overall and 0-1 in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action. The Titans evened their record to 6-6 and are 1-0 in PAC play.
Westminster took a 2-0 lead little more than 15 minutes into the game on a pair of Ian Hill goals.
Trailing 2-0 at the half, the Jackets gave up scores to Jake Huey and Tyler Ryan in the second, before Waynesburg junior Ryan Hartz buried a shot into the back of the Titan net. Westminster closed the scoring with just eight minutes to go in the game when the Titans' Brice Lott scored off a feed from Hill.
Waynesburg was out-shot by a 23-11 margin. Waynesburg junior goalkeeper Tyler Hellwig made four saves on the day, while Mike Codita and Lance Leathers split time in net for the Titans.
The Jackets return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 6, when they host Saint Vincent for a 7 p.m. contest.
