WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Feb. 18) – The Waynesburg University Men's Club Volleyball program will again host the annual Alumni Challenge Match this Saturday at the Rudy Marisa Field House at 11 a.m. The match will feature some of the best players to wear the orange and black over the six years of program history.

The alumni team will boast some of the best hitting Waynesburg University has ever seen. Outside hitters Eric Schons ('08), David Peters ('07) and Scott Carson ('07) will warm with help in the middle of the court from Nick Staffieri (08) and Marcus Petrisek (05).

Other notable returning alumni include opposite hitter Dan Gottron (08) and Tyler Allen (08). Setting duties have not yet been announced but current head coach, James Patterson (04) should see significant time at hands. 

The day will begin at 10 a.m. with the arrival of athletes to the gym. Doors open at 10:20 a.m. to the general public. A small recognition ceremony will get the match going just after 11 a.m. to recognize returning alumni. 

Each returning player will be announced and met at mid-court where they will receive a gift from a current player on behalf of the institution and the Alumni Relations Office. The best-of-five match will begin following the ceremony with awards and the first ever presentation of the brand new Traditions Trophy.

A lunch will follow off campus.
