WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 9) – The Waynesburg University men's soccer team fell behind early and couldn't recover against Washington & Jefferson on Saturday at John F. Wiley Stadium.
The Presidents (7-2-2, 3-0) scored three first half goals and went on to pick up a 3-1 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) win over the Yellow Jackets (5-8-1, 0-3).
Trailing 3-0 late in the second half, junior Erick Burke netted his team-leading 11th goal of the season off an assist from freshman Brad Baker in the 85th minute of play. Freshman Dan Buzzard started the game in net for Waynesburg and allowed all three goals while making three saves before being pulled for senior Ryan Hunsberger at halftime. The veteran keeper stopped all seven shots on goal over the final 45 minutes of play.
Waynesburg will take another shot at their first PAC win when they head to Saint Vincent on Oct. 13 to face the Bearcats.
