NEW CONCORD, Ohio (Sept. 1) – The Waynesburg University men's soccer team started the 2010 season with a 6-0 loss to a traditionally strong Muskingum team on Wednesday afternoon.
The Muskies (1-0), who out-shot the Yellow Jackets (0-1) by a 31-7 margin, took a 2-0 lead into halftime before pouring on four goals in the final 45 minutes of play. Freshman Juan Angel led the Jacket attack with two shots, while senior Ryan Hunsberger got the start in net. Hunsberger stopped seven of 10 shots on goal during 58 minutes of action.
Muskingum's Daniel Meehan had a hat trick and an assist in the victory.
The Jackets will look for more positive results on Friday, Sept. 3, when they take on Greenville in two-day Defiance tournament. That contest is scheduled to start at 5 p.m.
