KISSIMMEE, Fla. (March 7) – The Waynesburg University softball team continued its stay at the Rebel Spring Games on Monday by playing a doubleheader into the evening hours.

Senior Amanda Baughman got the start in the circle for the late game and suffered a tough loss in a 2-1 battle with undefeated Baldwin-Wallace College. Baughman pitched four of the seven innings and surrendered two earned runs.

Waynesburg tallied its lone run of the game in the top of the fourth inning when senior Kristen Lautenschlager trotted home on a bases-loaded walk.

After an off day Tuesday, the Yellow Jackets will return to action Wednesday with games at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. against Defiance College and Misericordia University, respectively.

NOTE: Waynesburg's early game was against Alverno College. The Yellow Jackets built up a 14-6 lead, but a miscommunication between the scorekeepers, umpires and teams caused the game to end after four innings instead of five. The necessary innings will be completed at a later date.
