CENTERVILLE, Mass. (Aug. 4) – Softball standout
Amanda Baughman picked up one last honor from a stellar senior season courtesy of the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC).
The Washington, Pa. native was named a second-team ECAC Division III South All-Star as a utility player after leading the Yellow Jackets in almost every major offensive category. She paced the team in batting average (.404), slugging (.657), on-base percentage (.464), hits (40), RBI (35) and homeruns (6). The veteran standout also ranked fourth in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) in average, third in slugging, fifth in on-base percentage, second in RBI and third in homeruns.
Baughman was also the team's top pitcher. Her six wins in the circle (6-9) led the team, as did her 112 strikeouts, 11 complete games and three saves.
With Baughman leading the way, Waynesburg qualified for the PAC tournament for the first time since 2008 after going 16-16 overall and 8-8 in conference competition. For a look at all of this year's ECAC Division III South all-stars, click
