NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. (Oct. 13) – The Waynesburg University men's soccer team took an early lead against Westminster on Saturday, but was unable to maintain it in a 2-1 road loss to the Titans on Saturday.

The Yellow Jackets (6-6-1, 1-2-1) opened up the scoring after just 4:33 of play, when sophomore James Sneed headed in his third goal of the year off a pass from classmate Ray Melone to put the visitors up 1-0. Unfortunately, Westminster (9-3-2, 3-1-1) picked up two goals in a span of just over 40 seconds during the 22nd and 23rd minutes of the first half to take the lead. After those two scores, Waynesburg sophomore keeper Brandon Daughtry and his counterpart in net, Adam Kephart, who are two of the best net-minders in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC), took over and ended the scoring.

Daughtry made nine saves on the day, while Kephart stopped seven shots on goal in the win. Westminster out-shot the Yellow Jackets by a 23-to-15 margin, and also held a slight six-to-four edge in corner kicks.

The Jackets will look to get back on the winning track on Wednesday, Oct. 17, when they play host to Geneva. Start time is scheduled for 8 p.m.
