WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 17) – The Waynesburg University men's soccer team was locked in a 0-0 tie with visiting Geneva for most of Tuesday night's game at John F. Wiley Stadium. Unfortunately, the Golden Tornadoes finally broke through for a pair of goals, which were more than enough to defeat the Yellow Jackets 2-0.
 
Waynesburg (6-7-1, 1-3-1) kept Geneva (8-5-3, 4-1-1) off the scoreboard until the 74^th minute, when the Golden Tornadoes scored the first goal of the night following a Waynesburg yellow card. The visitors tacked on an insurance goal during the 79^th minute of action to put the game out of reach.
 
Sophomore Waynesburg goalkeeper Brandon Daughtry stopped seven shots on the night, but the Jackets were out-shot 17-to-one in the loss. Geneva also held a sizeable advantage (nine-to-two) in corner kicks.
 
The Jackets are back in action on Friday, Oct. 19, when they play host to Washington & Jefferson. Start time is scheduled for 8 p.m.
