Men's soccer falls at Grove City

Yellow Jackets drop 2-0 road contest to Wolverines

GROVE CITY, Pa. (Oct. 6) – The Waynesburg University men's soccer team continued Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play with a road game at Grove City on Saturday. The Yellow Jackets spent most of the afternoon in their own side of the field as they fell 2-0 to the Wolverines.
 
Waynesburg (5-5-1, 0-1-1) was out-shot 27-to-two on the day and managed to put just one of those attempts on net against the Wolverines (5-7, 2-1). The Jackets were also didn't attempt a corner kick in the loss, while GCC recorded seven attempts from the corner.
 
The Jackets gave up an early goal in the ninth minute of competition and were able to maintain a one-goal deficit until the 83rd minute of play when the Wolverines took a 2-0 advantage. Standout sophomore goalkeeper Brandon Daughtry did all he could to keep the road team in contention for a win by stopping nine Grove City shots on goal.
 
Waynesburg will take another shot at its first conference win on Tuesday, Oct. 9, when the Jackets hit the road to face Saint Vincent. Start time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
