LATROBE, Pa. (Oct. 9) – The Waynesburg University men's soccer team picked up its first Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) win of 2012 on Tuesday, but it took a little extra effort to get it done. After falling behind in the second half, the Yellow Jackets rebounded to tie the score late in regulation, and eventually pull out a 2-1 victory over Saint Vincent on Tuesday.

After SVC (5-8-1, 0-4) broke up a 0-0 with a goal in the 68th minute of play, it looked as though the home team would deny the Yellow Jackets (6-5-1, 1-1-1) their first conference win of the year as the minutes ticked away on the contest. However, with less than a minute left to play, sophomore Cody Lemke took a feed from freshman Peter Byrnes and beat the Saint Vincent keeper to tie the game up and send it into overtime. Waynesburg completed the comeback in the sixth minute of overtime, when sophomore James Sneed scored the game winner, which was assisted upon by Lemke.

Sophomore Brandon Daughtry put together another solid outing in net and made seven saves in goal to pick up the victory. Waynesburg held slight advantages in shots (19-to-18) and corner kicks (five-to-three) during the hard fought victory. The Jackets will look to keep their winning ways going on Saturday, Oct. 13, when they travel to Westminster for a 1 p.m. matchup.
