Box Score
NEW CONCORD, Ohio (Sept. 12) – Despite being out-shot by a sizeable margin, the Waynesburg men's soccer team was able to keep its game close with Muskingum on Wednesday night. Unfortunately, the Yellow Jackets came up just short of a road victory as the Muskies picked up a 1-0 win in front of their home crowd.
Muskingum (2-3-1) scored the night's only point in just the sixth minute of the contest and went on to out-shoot Waynesburg (2-3) by an 18-to-10 margin. Conversely, the Jackets held a sizeable seven-to-two advantage in corner kicks.
Even though it came in a loss, sophomore
Brandon Daughtry played another solid game in net by making five saves and giving up just the one goal. After playing four-straight games on the road, the Jacket kickers will finally come back to John F. Wiley Stadium to face Marietta on Saturday. Start time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
