Women's soccer suffers tough road loss

Yellow Jackets drop 1-0 contest to the University of Mount Union

ALLIANCE, Ohio (Sept. 19) – The Waynesburg University women's soccer team suffered a 1-0 setback on the road at the University of Mount Union on Wednesday night.
 
The Yellow Jackets (4-3) and Purple Raiders (5-2) were locked in a tight battle on the night that saw Mt. Union hold a slight 11-to-eight advantage in total shots. The home team scored the only goal of the night on an unassisted tally that came early in the ninth minute of play.
 
Sophomores Erica Nordlund and Natalie Abraham put one shot on net each for the Yellow Jackets, while freshman Ciara Scott started and played all 90 minutes in net. The first-year goalkeeper made three saves.
 
The Jackets return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 25, when they head to Pitt-Bradford for a non-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) showdown. Start time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
