GROVE CITY, Pa. (Oct. 4) – Freshman Dimitri Arvanitopulos picked a great time to score his first collegiate goal, as the Waynesburg University men's soccer team ended a long losing streak to Grove City College with a 1-0 victory at the Wolverines' home field.
 
Not only did Arvanitopulos' goal end a losing skid that stretched back to 2002, but it was the first tally for the Yellow Jackets (7-1-1, 1-0) against the Wolverines (3-5-2, 0-1) since 2005. The freshman reserve found the back of the net just before the end of the first half during the 44^th minute of action.
 
Arvanitopulos was backed up by junior keeper Brandon Daughtry, who was stellar in net. The second-year starter stopped all five shots on goal that he faced. Waynesburg was able to score the victory despite being out-shot by a 25-to-12 margin.
 
The red hot Yellow Jackets will go for their fourth-straight win on Tuesday, Oct. 8, when they host Ohio Christian. Start time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
