WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 18) – Saturday's men's soccer matchup between visiting Thomas More and Waynesburg University lived up to the hype of a clash between two of the top teams in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC). The Yellow Jackets and Saints battled through over 89 minutes of scoreless action, before the visiting team was able to sneak in the game's only goal in a 1-0 Thomas More victory.
The Jackets (7-5-3, 3-1-0) withstood a barrage of 27 Saint shots to keep the game up in the air until the final minute of play. Thomas More also held an 11-0 advantage in corner kicks. Senior goalkeeper
Brandon Daughtry played a major role in keeping his team in the contest by making five saves in goal, including four in the second half.
Waynesburg gets back to action on Wednesday, Oct. 22, with a road trip to Westminster College. Start time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
