Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

WAYNESBURG, Pa. (April 5) – The Waynesburg University softball team traveled north to Geneva College on Saturday for a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) doubleheader. The Yellow Jackets fell 10-0 in a five-inning opening contest, before dropping the late game 11-8.

After being shut out in the opener, the Jackets (3-13, 0-4) got off to a fast start in game two with a two-spot in the first inning. Still leading 2-0, the Orange and Black added four more runs in the bottom of the fourth to grab a 6-0 advantage.

Unfortunately, Geneva (9-8, 3-1) responded with two runs in the fifth, sixth in the sixth and three more in the seventh. Waynesburg went down swinging with a two-spot in the bottom of the seventh. After scoring their final run of the day, the Jackets still had a runner on base and just one out on the board, before the Golden Tornadoes recorded the final two outs of the day.

The Jackets return to non-PAC play on Monday, when they travel to La Roche College for two games with the Redhawks. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
