Box Score

WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Sept. 9) – The Waynesburg University men's soccer team hosted NAIA member Point Park University on Tuesday night. The Yellow Jackets fell behind early and were unable to rebound against the Pioneers, who picked up the 5-2 win.

With senior starting goalkeeper Brandon Daughtry sidelined because of an injury that occurred in Saturday's match against La Roche, junior Nathan Ribar stepped up to make the start. Ribar made an immediate impact on the game by assisting on the first goal of the game, which was scored by senior Cody Lemke just 83 seconds into the contest.

Lemke added his second goal of the evening in the second half, before Point Park (2-1) fired in the final tally of the game. PPU held a sizeable 25-to-11 advantage in total shots on the night. Ribar made nine saves in net over 90 minutes of work.

The Jackets return to action Friday when they take on Capital under the lights at 8 p.m. in Columbus, Ohio.
