Box Score WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Sept. 17) – The Waynesburg University men's soccer team used three second-half goals to its advantage in a 5-2 victory over Marietta College. The victory snapped a three-game losing streak for the Yellow Jackets.
Waynesburg (2-3-2) was the first team to get on the scoreboard, as senior forward
Cody Lemke scored just 3:18 into the game off an assist from sophomore forward/midfielder
Chad Palucka. Marietta tied things up when received an own goal that was knocked in by the Orange and Black just 1:20 later.
The Pioneers went on to take a 2-1 advantage, but then relinquished it to the Yellow Jackets when senior forward
James Sneed scored a goal off an assist from senior midfielder
Nick Brommer just before halftime.
Brommer continued the scoring for the Jackets coming out of the half, thanks to an assist from junior forward
Victor Browne. Lemke added two goals late in the game, first off a penalty kick and second off an assist from Brommer.
Waynesburg will travel on Saturday, Sept. 20, to battle the University of Mount Union in Alliance, Ohio. Start time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
