Men's soccer ties at Bethany

Yellow Jackets break out of losing streak with 1-1 draw against Bison

BETHANY, W. Va. (Oct. 3) – The Waynesburg University men's soccer team battled Bethany College to a 1-1 draw on Saturday afternoon. Senior goalkeeper Nathan Ribar made 13 saves to preserve the tie for Waynesburg, which snapped a nine-game losing streak.

All of the scoring was done during the first six minutes of the match, which served as the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opener for both teams. Five minutes after the opening whistle, senior midfielder Connor Walsh scored his second goal of the season, giving Waynesburg (0-9-1, 0-0-1) a short-lived lead. Just over a minute later, Bethany (4-5-2, 0-0-1) scored to tie the contest at 1-1 and ending the scoring for the match.

The Yellow Jackets will be back in action on Tuesday afternoon at Thomas More College. Kickoff from Crestview Hills, Ky. is scheduled for 4:15 p.m.
