Brunette wins twice in 6-3 loss

WAYNESBURG, Pa. (April 12) – The Waynesburg University men's tennis team hosted Washington & Jefferson College for a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match on Sunday. The Yellow Jackets fell by the final score of 6-3.
 
Waynesburg (5-6, 4-1) was led by freshman Andrew Brunette, who went a combined 2-0 on the day. Brunette teamed up with senior Philip Littlejohn to post an 8-6 win at second doubles. The pair is now 6-2 on the year and 5-0 in PAC matches. Brunette added a hard-fought 7-6, 7-6 triumph at fourth singles. It was one of just two singles contests that were decided in straight sets.
 
The Jackets' only other win against the Presidents (6-8, 3-0) came at number-one singles, where senior Isaiah Cochran pulled out a 6-4, 6-7, 6-4 win.
 
Waynesburg returns to action on Tuesday, April 14, when it travels to Westminster to face the Titans. Start time for the PAC contest is scheduled for 4 p.m.
