Men's tennis downs Westminster 6-3

Waynesburg sweeps doubles matches in PAC victory

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. (April 14) – The Waynesburg University men's tennis team traveled to Westminster College for a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match on Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets swept the contest's three doubles matches en route to a 6-3 victory over the Titans.
 
Waynesburg's (6-6, 5-1) day started with senior Isaiah Cochran and sophomore Timothy Harris teaming up at first doubles to pick up a 9-8 (7-5) win. Senior Philip Littlejohn and freshman Andrew Brunette followed with a 9-7 triumph at the number-two spot, before senior Collin Philips and freshman Adam McKnight combined for a 9-7 victory at third doubles.
 
Harris, Brunette and McKnight wrapped up the victory with singles victories at the second, fourth and sixth spots, respectively. All three wins came in straight sets.
 
The Jackets are expected to finish up their regular season on Thursday, April 16, with a road match at Grove City. Start time is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
