WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 11) – The Waynesburg University men's soccer team hosted Washington & Jefferson on Tuesday for a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matchup. Offense was tough to come by on the night, which ended in a 0-0 double-overtime tie.
Tuesday marked the second time in the past three years that the two teams played to a tie. The Yellow Jackets (3-9-1, 1-2-1) earned the draw, despite being outshot by a 15-7 margin. However, W&J's (4-5-2, 0-2-1) advantage in shots on goal was a much closer 5-3 difference.
Though he was unable to tally any points, sophomore
Austin Zurik put together a solid night on the pitch for the home team. He set game highs with four total shots, three of which were on goal. Sophomore goalkeeper
James Snyder played a major role in the draw by playing all 110 minutes in net. Snyder earned the shutout by tallying five saves.
The Jackets return to competition on Saturday, Oct. 15, with a road trip to Geneva. Start time is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
