BEAVER FALLS, Pa. (Oct. 15) – The Waynesburg University men's soccer team traveled north to Geneva on Saturday for a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) showdown with the Golden Tornadoes. Waynesburg was efficient on offense, but it wasn't enough, as the home team picked up a 2-0 win.
The Jackets (3-10-1, 1-3-1) attempted just nine total shots, but six of them were put on goal. Geneva (10-3-1, 4-0) piled up 20 shots, with seven of them on net. The eventual game-winning tally was posted by the Tornadoes in the 28
th minute. Geneva added its insurance score on a penalty kick in the 79
th minute.
Five different Jackets put shots on net in a balanced offensive attack. Sophomore goalkeeper
James Snyder stopped five-of-seven shots on goal over a full 90 minutes of work.
Waynesburg plays its final home game of 2016 on Wednesday, Oct. 19. The Jackets host Saint Vincent for an 8 p.m. contest.
