Tennis downs Muskies

Waynesburg wins despite two forfeits

WAYNESBURG, Pa. (March 17) – The Waynesburg University men's tennis team played its first home match of the spring on Thursday against visiting Muskingum University. Despite competing with just five players, the Yellow Jackets scored their first win of the season by downing the Muskies 6-3.
 
Junior Timothy Harris, freshman Jonah Cooper, freshman Josh Denham and sophomore Adam McKnight all went a combined 2-0 for Waynesburg (1-6) on the day. All four competitors won their respective single contests by straight sets. The Jackets only contested loss came at the number-five spot.
 
Harris and Denham earned an 8-0 victory at first doubles, while Cooper teamed with McKnight to win 8-2 at the number-two flight.
 
Waynesburg will try to make it two wins in a row on Saturday, when it hosts Baldwin Wallace. Start time is scheduled for 11 a.m.
