(April 2) – The Waynesburg University men's tennis team hosted Geneva and Penn State Altoona for a tri-match on Saturday. Two of the day's three matches were completed, before inclement weather prematurely ended the finale.
The Yellow Jackets (3-8, 2-1) defeated Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) rival Geneva (1-6, 1-3) 6-3, before facing Penn State Altoona (2-3). Waynesburg's late match ended after the completion of the doubles matches. The Jackets won both contested flights and forfeited the number-three doubles contest.
Waynesburg won all six contested matches against the Golden Tornadoes and forfeited three flights. Sophomore

Adam McKnight won in straight sets at first through fourth singles, respectively. Harris and Denham teamed up for an 8-5 win at first doubles, while Cooper and McKnight scored an 8-2 triumph at the number-two spot.
After Altoona defeated Geneva 7-2, the Jackets and Lions tried, but failed to complete their match before dreary weather conditions forced them to leave the courts. The Harris/Denham and Cooper/McKnight tandems won by the final scores of 8-6 and 8-2, respectively. Again, Waynesburg was forced to forfeit the number-three doubles flight.
The Jackets will go for their third-straight win on Tuesday, April 5, when they host PAC powerhouse Grove City. Start time is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
