WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Sept. 10) – The Waynesburg University men's tennis team welcomed Oberlin to town for a Saturday night showdown at John F. Wiley Stadium. Unfortunately, a malfunction in the facility's lighting caused the game to end in the 70
th minute of play. Prior to the issue, the Yeomen managed to find the back of the net before the early ending to the contest, which gave them a 1-0 victory.
The visitors (3-1) notched the night's only point in the 53
rd minute of play. Waynesburg (1-3) was able to keep the deficit at just one point throughout the remainder of the contest, despite being out-shot 16-to-six. Six different Jackets each attempted one shot against the Yeomen. Sophomore keeper
James Snyder was able to stop five of the six shots Oberlin put on net in the loss.
Waynesburg is back in action on Thursday, Sept. 15, with a road game at Pitt Greensburg. Start time is scheduled for 8 p.m.
