WASHINGTON, Pa. (Sept. 24) – The Waynesburg University men's tennis team played its only scheduled Fall match on Saturday by competing in a pair of matches at Washington & Jefferson. Waynesburg won its first contest of the season by downing Marietta 6-3, before dropping an 8-1 final score to the host Presidents.

Josh Denham picked up a 9-7 victory at first doubles. Junior
Adam McKnight and first-year player Eli Novak followed with an 8-6 win at the number-two spot, while a pair of newcomers, Jordan Pastoria and James Zeremenko, rolled to an 8-2 triumph to complete the sweep.
Waynesburg closed out the victory with wins at first and third singles. Cooper improved to 2-0 on the day after putting together a 6-2, 7-5 victory at the number-one spot. The match-clinching victory was secured by McKnight, who cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 triumph. Pastoria also moved to 2-0 for the match with 6-3, 6-3 win at the number five flight.
McKnight added a team-leading fifth win on the day by besting his opponent from W&J (2-0) 6-3, 3-6, 10-6.
The Waynesburg men are off until February 10, 2017, when they travel to Mount Aloysius. Start time is scheduled for 5 p.m.
