WAYNESBURG, Pa. (March 29) – The Waynesburg University men's tennis team hosted Thiel on Wednesday afternoon for a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match. The Yellow Jackets rolled to an 8-1 win over the Tomcats.
Waynesburg (4-8, 1-1) opened the day by sweeping all three doubles flights. Sophomores
Jonah Cooper and
Josh Denham got things rolling with an 8-1 win at first doubles and were followed by junior
Adam McKnight and first-year player
Jordan Pastoria scoring an 8-4 victory at the number-two spot. Freshmen
James Zeremenko and
Tanner McKnight completed the sweep by besting their third doubles opponents 8-2.
The Jackets kept their momentum going with straight-set victories in the first five singles matches. Cooper, Denham,
Adam McKnight, Pastoria and
Tanner McKnight completed 2-0 days.
Waynesburg is back in action on Saturday, when it plays host to Westminster for another PAC match. Start time is scheduled for 12 p.m.
