WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Sept. 17) – The Waynesburg University women's tennis team played host to Muskingum for a Saturday morning match. The Yellow Jackets recorded their first victory of the year by taking down the Muskies 6-3.
Waynesburg (1-1) got things going by winning two-of-three doubles matches against Muskingum (0-2). The number-one pair of juniors
Jonah Cooper and
Josh Denham impressed in an 8-2 win. Senior
Adam McKnight and sophomore
Tanner McKnight added to the Jacket advantage by gutting out a 9-8 win at second doubles.
The home team closed out the victory by claiming four-of-six singles matches. Cooper and Denham rolled to straight-set triumphs at first and second singles, respectively.

Brian Drake closed out the win by edging his opponent at fifth singles 6-4, 4-6, 10-10-5.
Waynesburg is back in action on Saturday, Sept. 23, when it hosts a tri-match with Washington & Jefferson and Marietta. Start time is scheduled for 10 a.m.
