Series Breakdown
All-Time Series: Case Western Reserve (3-1)
First Meeting: 2014 (Waynesburg 35-15)
Last Meeting: 2017 (Case Western Reserve 56-21)

The Yellow Jackets return to the field after a two-week hiatus. Waynesburg is fresh off a bye week following its 12-10 win over Saint Vincent on Saturday, Oct. 20. The Jackets defeated Thiel 34-7 in their first game following their 2017 bye week.

Saturday features a matchup of the Waynesburg's pass defense (164.2 yards allowed per game), which ranks first in the PAC and Case's high powered aerial attack, which is not only best in the conference, but 10th in all of Division III at 322.9 yards per contest. The Spartans have also piled up a league-best 29 touchdown passes.

Case senior defensive end Cameron Brown is not only the three-time defending PAC Defensive Player of the Week, but he was named to the most recent D3Football.com Team of the Week after breaking the program's single-season sack record during the 19th-ranked Spartans' 34-3 win at Bethany College Saturday afternoon. He finished with 3.0 sacks, four tackles (all solo) and a forced fumble while returning the first interception of his career 15 yards for a fourth quarter score. Brown's effort helped CWRU hold Bethany to 98 yards of total offense, including just 17 rushing yards. He now has 9.5 sacks over the last three games and has tallied a program-record 14.0 sacks this season. Through eight games, Brown has 43 tackles (24 solo), 17.0 tackles for a loss and three forced fumbles.

Case quarterback Drew Saxton leads the PAC and all Division III freshmen in passing yards (2,375). That total also ranks 11th in the country. His 28 passing touchdowns also place him tops amongst all Division III freshmen and fourth in the nation.

Saxton and Waynesburg starting quarterback Tyler Perone (Venetia, Pa. / Seton LaSalle) have been two of the best in the PAC when it comes to protecting the football. Saxton has been intercepted six times, while Perone has been picked off just five times, which is the second-lowest total in the league.

Saxton's favorite target has been sophomore Colt Morgan who ranks second in Division III in touchdown catches behind only fellow PAC member Andrew Wolf of Washington & Jefferson. His 16 touchdown catches have already set a new school record, which he totaled on 63 catches for 888 yards.

Waynesburg and Case Western Reserve sport similar numbers when it comes to total defense. The Yellow Jackets rank third in the conference with 303.9 yards per game, while the Spartans have the number-two spot with 279.9 yards per contest.

While the Jackets are tops in the PAC in pass defense, Case can make that same claim in terms of rushing defense. The Spartans are giving up just 96.8 yards per contest on the ground.

Both Waynesburg and Case boast some of the best kicking games in the league. The Spartans are the only team in the league to not miss a field goal at 4-4. The Jackets have knocked down the most three-point tries this fall, going eight-for-10 on the season.

Speaking of kickers, Spartan freshman Robertson Albrecht leads all PAC kickers in points with 53 points. He is 41-of-42 in PAT tries and has made all four of his field goals. Waynesburg has employed on the duo of freshman Garrett Horne (Johnstown, Pa. / Richland) and senior Garret Guthrie (Marianna, Pa. / Trinity) throughout the season. The pair has combined to score 38 points, which would rank them third in the PAC for scoring by kickers.

Sophomore James Jackson (Farrell, Pa. / Farrell) has risen to the top of the PAC kick return standings. His 22.7 yards per return average on 18 take backs is tops in the league.
